Guys,

I should know better, but I don't......so here goes.

Is Wolf 5.56 or .223?

Is PMC Bronze 5.56 or .223?

When I did a search for 5.56 on an ammo site (Able?) PMC came up. However, the PMC ad did not list it as 5.56.

They are both .223

Thanks.

Follow up to stupid question:

I can never remember which way the equation flows....is it okay to shoot 5.56 in a .223 chamber or not ok?

Or was it ok to shoot .223 in a 5.56 but not the other way around?

I know this is AR15 101 type stuff....but I swear, I can never remember.

This is the correct answer.

.223 in 5.56 is just fine.  5.56 in .223 might cause problems.

Does it make a difference if you're AR is stamped 5.56 and .223 on the barrel?

The barrel stamp is what matters, that is what the barrel is chambered for. The markings on the lower can say anything  - i.e. "multi-cal", "9mm" etc...

I guess that was what I was trying to say.  If you're barrel is stamped with both then you should be OK.
