Anyone with any first-hand knowledge of how clean, reliable or accurate this 55gr FMJ PMC Bronze stuff is?  I am thinking about buying 1k rounds but want some input about the quality before I jump in head first. I have heard the brass is boxer primed/reloadable and is good brass at that...... What is the going price for this stuff right now???

I bought a few boxes at $7.25/box from Palmetto. I've seen as high as $10/box though. Seems to be dandy brass .223 from the reviews I read beforehand, but I have not shot any yet.

Go to wideners and buy there Prvi m193 or m855. The PMC is ok, but you'll like the Prvi better. Hotter and better accuacy.

I got 200 rds. and 6.50 a box at wally world back in late october, and bought more to make up 1k last month, have fired 150 rds. so far our of an oly with no problems of any kind. All of the brass ejected into one pile about five feet in diameter. Brass looks reall good, although I haven't reloaded any yet. Just waiting on my son to fire the other 850. His oly has a bull barrel and free float tube, with flip up buis from a bench at 25yds, no rest or anything, about 1/4 inch 5 shot groups, with the red dot, just under that. We'll definately buy more and reload the brass with Sierra 65gr. gamekings. I haven't chronoed these yet, but probably will tommorow, and I'll let you know what I get from a 16" barrel.

I shot up about 500 rounds of PMC. Not the best ammo in respect to accuracy (comparable to Wolf IMO), relatively clean, and I'm not a reloader so I can't comment on the quality of the brass.

Good plinking ammo though. I wouldn't mind having a few K's.

PMC ammo is okay, but it's not 5.56mm, more like the lower pressure .223. I have found it to have average accuracy of about 2-3 moa at 100-yards from a bench. I would spend the extra money and get the PRVI M193, which is more accurate and a hotter 5.56mm load.

I bought a boatload of PMC because it was on sale and a pretty good deal. It shot great in my rifle. But I ran my boat aground and it all fell overboard along with my rifle dangit.

Have shot several hundred rounds out of various mags and have had no probs, although at my range there are some that say the primers are hard and the round is underpowered. I have found neither to be true

I agree.  If you can wait 3+ weeks for delivery.

I seen some last week at my local shop and he wanted $10 a box which seemed really really high for PMC

It fine...$7 /box @ cabelas. Saw about 3,000 rds there last week.

I bought several cases from Palmetto last fall when they had it for a bit over $300/1000

So far it has performed ok.

PMC is what My buddies and I when we are just messing around. I bought a 1000 for $350 about 6 months ago. Now days this cheapest I can find it is 8.99. And It's 10.99 everywhere else. (Northwest Washington Bellingham, Lyden area)

I have used it and would buy it again for range/plinking. It was adequately clean
and it ran reliably. Shot it using a mid-length Sabre Defense barrel. It gave the
same groups and point of impact as Hornady TAP 60 gr from that barrel.
BUT, I was only shooting at 50 yards. No idea of it's accuracy further out.

Would definitely buy it again for casual work.

I bought a case of PMC Bronze last summer to stash and an extra box of 20 to test.  I forget the numbers, but it was so slow, I took it back to the gun store and traded it back for some Federal LC XM193 and paid the difference in price.  (I did the same with some Red Box Federal .223 too.)

The fragmentation range of AR15's is so short (particularly with my 16 in HBAR) that you need all the velocity you can get.  Anything but hot 5.56 ammo is a joke for SHTF scenarios, IMO.  The only thing I'm buying now is Brown Box and Black Box Federal.  If you are just plinking around, however, who cares?

Seems to be pretty good stuff for all general purposes.  I tried it last week and didn't have any problems.

+1 on Privi. PMC has never been good in any caliber. I guess serbs make better ammo then koreans.

I bought two cases at $5.99 a box last moth from the-armory in Virginia. Have shot PMC for years without any issues and the brass is pretty decent.

The wait is worth the ammo. PMC is ok for shooting, but why not get better. I've shot pmc and will purchase prvi when pssible over pmc. It's better to have any ammo than none at all.

I've shot about 500 rounds of the PMC and have had zero problems with it. I was getting it here for 6.99 a box, so I stocked up. It ranges in price around here now from 7.99 to 12.99.

If it's on sale for less than 6 bucks a box, I'm not adverse to picking some up. Decent enough, never gave me a problem. Not really any more or less accurate than other choices in the same price range.

No way I'd spend as much or more on it than Prvi, though.

I had no idea Wallyville sold PMC..

.

Every gunstore in this area wants 10 bucks uh box for the stuff; which is a total ripoff!

It's good plinking ammo. I reload and can verify the cases are great to reload. I never chrono'd it but is definately not 5.56 spec.

I put it in the same category as Fiocchi .223.  Clean shooting but not loaded hot, acceptable but not stellar accuracy.  Decent brass for reloading.  Strictly range ammo.
