Ouch...I have a problem with putting steel cased ammo through my lovely AR's. If your rifle will run on it (which it should, or something is wrong with it), then it won't hurt anything. Even if it were to wear extractors faster than brass cased ammo, you can afford to buy one with all the money you saved. |

Plus, I'll have the performance and accuracy edge that way. Yay.

Locally the wolf FMJ is 7.00 for 20 or .35 each. Hollow points are 9.00 for 20 or .45 each.
I can reload for .19 cents per at current component prices. So, if I shoot Wolf HP it will cost me .26 cents to run steel cases through it. However.... I have quite a bit of Wolf ammo stored for "the day after tomorrow". |
| More ammo equals more training equals a higher level of proficiency. I seriously doubt anyone has a few thousand rounds of match grade ammo stashed away or goes out and blasts through a ton of it at the range. Wolf is great for CQB type training etc....use the fancy stuff for bench shooting or to zero optics, etc. I have a mix, Wolf for drills, TAP for HD, and AE and PMC for general marksmanship training. Wolf is dirty but I clean my AR frequently and I have noticed decent accuracy even at 100m. It is what it is...a cheap plinking ammo. I bought a ton of Wolf when you could get 1000 for $220 at Sportsmans Guide. Now you have to buy whatever you can find and pay out the ass for it. Do you really need to shoot Black Hills at the 7m line doing CQB? |
