found a couple marked "H X P 8 8". It could possibly be 270 win because I found one stamped with that right by the other ones.

HXP is Greek,,,, more common to see 30-06, I have a pile of them.

I have also seen it in .50 BMG, as I have 10 or 11 of them somebody left behind..

I should point out that HXP is the "good" Greek ammo plant. Not the "Olympic" brand that people talk badly about.

Concur that HXP is a decent Greek manufacturer. They make/made a good .303 British round, could this be what they are?
