I'm looking at ordering some ammo tonight, tomorrow at the latest. Right now I've looked at Silver Bear, Golden Bear, PRVI Partizan, Centurian, and ARMSCOR. Originally I was planning on buying about 200 rounds of PRVI Partizan from Wideners for $80.18, $0.40 per round, and then buying 1000 of Silver Bear from ammunitiontogo.com for $253.52, $0.25 per round.
Then I started looking at buying more quality stuff, seeing both Centurian and ARMSCOR at ammunitiontogo.com. 500 rounds of each type is $359.48, $0.36 per round. I'm looking at mostly plinking ammo, because I have my first AR on order and want to stock up on some ammo to shoot around with, but then maybe have some quality rounds for when I may need them. Rather than buying 1000 of the nice stuff like Centurian and ARMSCOR, I can spend that amount on Silver Bear and get over 1400 rounds. So here's my question...after reading so much and running myself in circles, these are basically the couple I've decided to choose between. To me, it seems like Silver Bear is maybe similar to Wolf, but Golden Bear is a little better? Is that true? And from there, how much better is Centurian, ARMSCOR, and PRVI Partizan than either Silver Bear or Golden Bear? I imagine that I'll end up buying some of both, but to be both cost effective to get a lot of rounds and also have a decent amount of good ammo. So what do you guys think about these different types and where to put my money? I appreciate it, thanks a lot |
| Honestly my man, go with wolf. There is nothing wrong with shooting wolf, it's cheap, and gets the job done. If you are like me and don't mind cleaning your guns, wolf will suit you just fine. I have maybe 100 rounds of high quality brass rounds that I will use for a rainy day but most of the ammo I have is wolf. |
