I went to Walmart last night and picked up a box of Federal .223 in a 100 round 55grn. value pack. The price was $39.98. When I got home and looked at it it was stamped with the nato cross and had LC 08. My question is is this .Mil surplus from lake city? I tried to take a pic but my crappy camera phone could not focus in on the wording.

I asked this a couple weeks ago and the consensus was that the brass was LC but not 5.56 loaded.

The brass can be either LC or FC labeled. Don't be surprised if you get the latter.

Im not saying I dont believe you, but I was hoping to score some reload brass.  F C marked brass apparently sucks after one reload.

I think if LC has an over-run of brass Federal will use it.

Alliant owns/operates both LC and Fed.....
