Do you dump your ammo in bulk in the ammo can or do you leave it in the factory boxes when putting it in the ammo can??

Put mine on stipper clips (10 rds), three clips to a cardboard (30rds), four cardboards to a bandolier (120rds), 7 bandoliers to a 50 cal ammo can (840rds). Throw in a two or three mag spoons and two or three desicant packets and your good to go. Ammo will oulast me, but only if I stop shooting it!

I store them the way I got them.  If still in their original box they are easier to sell if you find a new favorite round.

Ditto,

You can't typicaly fit more in this way compared to single rounds but it makes dumping for a new round easier. It's also easier to pull out a few boxes vs a hand full on loose ammo when it comes time to hit the range.

The only ammo I put in a Ammo can would be my 223 reloads (plinking ammo) not the 75 or 77gr Hornady HPBT bullets. I'll sometimes buy a case of 9mm and empty 500 rounds in an ammo can if I"m going to the range a lot that week.

Mine stays in the box while in cans so that I can identify it when I load mags and know what brand I am shooting in case there's a problem.

A few boxes?   I take full cans and come home with empty ones.

Stupid question, but what's a mag spoon?

A stripper clip guide.  Stripper clips are pretty useless without one, and pretty awesome with one.

I just recently was introduced to the wonder of stripper clips.  Peviously I just stored my 55gr ammo loose in 50 cal ammo cans.  Now I put them in strippers and neatly stack the strippers, and put 1000 rounds to a can.
