[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Monarch ammo?????

hey guys i read some where either here or xdtalk.com that monarch was bad ammo for an AR....i have like close to 200 rounds prolly that i bought...is it ok to shoot with at the range or should i buy some more??

I shoot it all day long through all three of my ar's. Im talking about the steel case stuff.

these i have look like its steel but might have a coating of somethin over them...and a red marking type paint looking stuff around the primers...hahaha sorry but the bad detail...i jsut don't want to shoot bad ammo through my newly built AR

it smells horrible and is quite dirty, but it's never malfunctioned in my gun. I've probably run 250 rounds of it

I bought out 3 stores when it was 4.26 a box. I have fired about 2000 rounds no problems

Are we talkin Blue Box (Steel case) or Green Box (Brass cased)? Green box is just relabeled Prvi Partizan. Not sure where the Blue Box stuff comes from. Personally I just stick to the Green Box stuff...

Blue box is made by Barnaul-as in the Silver, Golden, and Brown Bear series of ammo. I've gone through a bunch of it in my AR and it's been pretty good stuff. It is NOT "M193 spec" ammunition, but rather milder than that. It has never malfunctioned for me, never given me much more than a little extra to clean, and up until the world went crazy and ammo prices started heading for heaven, it was fun to shoot at $2.87/box. Now it's still fun to shoot, but paying almost $5 for a box hurts.

Don't buy it...save it all for me

Seriously, I use it in all my guns...pistols and rifles. Anyhow I haven't had an issue using either blue or green boxed Monarch.
