[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Wolf

Is there any real benefit to using wolf ammo other than the price?
Is there any rifle manufacturers that recommend it for use in their guns?
Are the vast variances in wolf ammo just a figment of my imagination?

I honestly don't see the benefit myself.

Only advantage is cost.
Bushmaster does list it as a recommended ammo.

i recommend practicing with any ammo that goes bang and is safe to shoot. wolf is. lots better than standing around rubbing on your rifle.

I hear those steel cases love the finish to death on the case deflector. You might see a little more wear with the wolf ammunition, or you might not. Personally I load my own ammo so Wolf will probably never find a place in my rifles or my ammo cans.

It's fine plinking blasting ammo. When I take my 19year old son and his pal shooting I give them the Bushmaster with wolf ammo and they are good to go.

I use it for plinking, and keep my better stuff for worse days.

Its cheap, shoots decent. No problems from my Bushmaster or RRA carbines.

I use it for plinking and such..carbine classes and rainy day ammo is brass cased...I tucked away 5K rounds of federal XM193 4 years ago when that was $250 a case..the good ole days

Ammo FAQ, entry #3. And yes - price is the main reason for its attractiveness.
