yes I have read much on this topic.

But, is there any ammo over 55 gr that will stabilize in a 22 inch varmint/heavy bbl rifle with 1:12 twist rate.

Everything I read says 55 gr is the max weight for 1:12 twist

60 grainers work great in my bolt-action prairie dog gun with a 1:12 twist...they actually  group better than any other round I shoot.  I have tried M885 (62 gr) and 68 gr bullets and I am lucky to hit the target at 100 yards.  In my opinion 60gr is about max weight for a 1:12 twist.

Thanks for that info.  I will try them out.  Black Hills makes  a nice 60 gn round when you can get them.

62gr non M855 (i.e. no penetrator) should stabilize out of your barrel. I got good groups from Wolf 62gr out of an A1 1\12 upper at 200 yards. No signs of key holes or non stabilized rounds. I know of several shooters that heve gotten good groupings from a 26" 1\12 bolt gun because the push the round harder than you can out of a 20" semi auto. I don't know if you can get the velocity out of a 22" barrel.
