I hope somebody shows up to explain how misguided I've been, but my experience with buying .45 ACP has been that the stuff weighs so much that shipping whacks any online pricing advantage. And that online price advantage never seems to be that great anyway.

Have you looked at Natchez? They have a pretty good sale going on.

If it wasn't for .45, .22LR, and 9mm wal-mart would be a hell of a lot more "hate" than "love"  on my percentage meter.

Wolf 230gr fmj @ Widener’s for $206/k + SH

CCI Blazer (tin) 230gr fmj @ Widener’s for $215/k + SH

Depending on the store, Blazer Brass 230gr fmj may be available at Walmart for ~$300/k + tax

Up until a few months ago I was getting in on the Wallmart blazer brass boxes for 10.98/50  Good thing I dropped $500 on ammo at this price, now its 14.98 for the same stuff.  However, if you have a buddy with a Wallmart discount you can save another 8% or so.

Reload!!!  45 is one of the easiest calibers for reloading and you'll make your money back on the equipment in no time.

I just got in for 1k of the Blazer. I will plink with it and save the other 4k of brass case. It beats Wal-Mart by $4 here.

solved my own problem.

Hunting Shack will sell me the range ammo for LEO prices.

I am active duty military.

Best prices out there.

1000 rnds of .45 ACP FMJ reloads is $196.97.  You can buy any quantity of boxes of 50 each.  Just divide.  So 500 rnds is less than 100.00.  Cost 20.00 to ship to PA.

45 is heavy ammo so shippping from western us is high.  But still less than 120.00 shipped is not bad for that ammo.  Couldn't find it any where close to that price anywhere else.

I got some ultramax reloads at Dicks for $54 a box.  150 in the box.

It ain't cheap by any means.

Wally World is your best bet.

I ordered 5k HSM reloaded 230gr fmj .45acp last year @ $178/k + S&H with my discount.  So far I have had no problems and believe it will make excellent practice ammo.

Dick’s currently has a case sale price of $14.98/50 on UMC 230gr fmj.  I have been able to put back a considerable amount of UMC .45acp at reasonable cost since early/middle last year by using one of their credit cards and the ScoreCard Rewards Program.  If you are interested you can read more specifics in this thread.  My method will not work for everyone.
