which wolf is better?  there is what appears to be plain Wolf ammo then something called Military Classic.  What is the difference?  Thanks in advance!

EDIT:  FOR ONCE THE SEARCH ACTUALLY PROVIDED ME AN ANSWER. well a partial answer.

can anyone confirm that the MC is steelcore ammo?  i know some ranges don't allow that.  otherwise, is there really no difference?

Its steel jacketed ammo. And the cases are not going to make any difference. My sbr eats wolf like its going out of style and has had no ill effects.

I thought they were the same except the "classic" is the old laqured stuff, and the plain Wolf is the newer poly coated.  Bullets and cases are they same, right?

Wolf is the importer.  The ammunition in the different packaging comes from different plants.

At least if we are talking about centerfire rifle and pistol ammo:

Wolf in black box = Tula Arsenal

Wolf "Military Classic" in camo box = Ulyanovsk Arsenal

Look at the headstamps.

so they are 100% the same save the place they are manufactured?

In 7.62x39, 'MC' is lacquered-case and 'Performance' is polymer.

No. The 'MC' is lacquered cases, and I don't know if the bullets are steel core but I doubt it. 'Performance' is polymer-coated cases.

well, i've read that now all of it is polymer coated... I thought.  maybe i'm just getting confused.  so it would actually be a safer bet to get the black box stuff that is polymer coated...

See edited post. Sorry, I was thinking 7.62x39 at the time.

I notice no difference between .223 Military classic and black box performance. I don't have a chronograph.

This seems to come up about once a week. Its been hashed over and over.
I am not completely familiar with all the little 'nuances' of each other than they are both poly coated with the poly on the MC being a little thinner coat, they are made in different plants.
From my experience and others, the MC seems to have a bit more zip to it as the MC will cycle my SBR 100% while the BB only cycles it 50-60% of the time. That tells me all I need to know right there. Good cheap plinking for my SBR and a lot more fun when it runs like it should.
