Has anyone ordered from Hunting Shack Munitions in the past couple of months? I placed an order back in August, and I still have not received the shipment. When I email them for a delivery date, they tell me that they can't even give me an approximate delivery date. Has anyone else encountered this issue from them?

Dunno, but man it's nice to live right down the street from them!

I got an email from Darren recently that said he was leaving HSM.
I buy bulk projectiles from them and he was THE MAN to deal with.
This may have something to do with the situation you mention....

They are really busy.
Though I did get my order timely...a guy I work with had to wait a really long time.

Last time I talked to them to check the status of my order, they said they were "waiting for bullets" to arrive.  I'd ordered the 75-gr 5.56.

Demand > Supply.  I waited a loooooong time to receive my first order.  I placed an order for 5.56-17T a few weeks ago and was told they were waiting on Hornady 75gr bullets.  I told them that was fine and to ship my order when they could.  Unless I have to wait more than 4-5 months, I do not plan on contacting them about my order.

I have been waiting since October of 2006 for 100k of Ranger ammo from Winchester. It has been six months so far for my last order of Federal Tactical ammo.

Find a line and stand in it. There is no indication that it will be better in 2008.

My wait is coming up on 4 months. I just hope it's not too much longer.

WarriorTalk has a thread on this.  Apparently (this is all third-hand to me), some folks left the company to start their own, after some unspecified disagreement, and took things like customer lists with them.

www.warriortalk.com/showthread.php?t=32407

It's sounding like a cluster-fuck at the moment.  Just my own uninformed opinion.

Checked out the link.  I would like all the backround informatin on that.  I currently have an order in for 5.56-17T.  I hope they still have a record of it.

Side note: If that is true, it is big-time illigal. Customer lists belong to the company just like the copy machine and cases of ammo.

Darren left HSM 12/27/07. He has started his own company. Bitteroot Vally Amunition and Components ( B.V.A.C.) He will be at the Salt Lake Gun show this weekend.

The 5.56 tactical from HSM will most likely not be seen for a while.

Now if you want a 5.56 load with the 75 grain sierre bullets with the canalure. It will be in production next week (BVAC). I can take orders now. I will not have the current price until next week.

In case you do not know who I am. My name is James. my company is Surplusammo.com. I am distributer for HSM and BVAC among others.

I will check in here to answer any questions that you may have. I talk to Darren daily. He is extremly busy with just starting a new company. He worked for HSM for 20 years. He was the production manager for 17 years. He heard about this thread, He asked me to let everyone know He was not with HSM anymore.

Thanks,
james

P.S. i did could not read the link to the other site so I can not comment on that.

I bought some of the 75 gr 5.56 "T" load and is was horribly inaccurate from my FS-2000 and from my Colt M-4.  I am talking softball size groups at 100 yards.  I re-ordered the .223 version and the 77 gr. Sierra version and they are much better.  I did have to wait several months last year to get the order FWIW.

Right, Most arfcomers want match grade ammo for 20% less than wolf. Sorry, I forgot they do not like to hear that.

sorry I could not resist. Yes, He will manufacture a full line from cheap plinkers to hand loaded 50 match and most things inbetween.
