ONE ORIGINAL SEALED CAN PLUS 9 BOXES OF 20 PER 1,000 ROUNDS

Anyone shoot this ammo??

425 for 1000 is steep but most of my shooting is at PDs and such, and it's only 25$ more than the m855 green tip stuff.
I just orderd 1k rounds but chickened out and split the order with a buddie in case I didn't like it.hanks

I've shot it. It functions fine. The projectile is very long and key holes at 25yds. with some rifles.

I would never use it as a home defense round. This is an indoor practice round.

We went through several cases of it (or a similar item) in our last rifle class.
I ran 100 rounds through my 1/9" Colt and and it shot OK BUT the guy standing next to me said my muzzle brake (JP/Cooley) was throwing particles at him laterally. I saw round holes in the target from 25 yards in and was doing rapid fire drills (Bill Drills).
It functioned OK and was in a WIN box marked "non-toxic" but I believe it said 55 grain. This brass is supposed to have larger flash holes for the non-lead styphnate primer and may cause a problem for reloaders...
I was told all Gov't agencies would be going to green ammo for training and this   might be it...

I ran a week long PD class with it - it all cycled fine - no misfires. The PD guys in the class were using the lightweight training rounds (with the special bolt) which caused mucho cycle problems. This frang stuff was much more reliable.

My 1:7 did not keyhole @ 25, but I have had a 1:9 that did with the same ammo. Really long bullet.

FAIL on all the above.

It's a round meant for disintergrating when it hits steel (or other HARD objects) so the round won't leave the shoot house  - or richochet on ranges when you're shooting steel plates.

Do not expect good results when used on warm bodies.

Not intended for defense...wasn't all that great for the range either

FYI, USAF has had some problems from firing Federal frangible ammo.
reports indicate it generate more fouling debris than regular ball. Suggest cleaning your rifle after every 100 rounds.

I agree. I have used several types of frangible ammo. But it's intended use is for steel targets or indoor target ranges where penetration may be a problem. Not recommended for defense from warm bodies. It could be used for critter disposal though.

far more fouling. everything had that horrible corroded blue/green stuff caked on it. I sure as shit wouldn't use it in my personal weapons.

Regardless....it's from Scammoman. That's reason enough to pass on it.

Not only that but the stuff I fired last is so soft that you can deform the tip loading it into mags.  It wasn't that bad as far as accuracy though, the plastic ammo I used one year was far worse.

I ran a 2 day class in the shoothouse at MCSO with it. The stuff ran fine.
