Im looking at some plinking ammo and came across PMC 55gr .223 on sale for 6 bucks a box but the problem is that i have a 7" twist on my savage vlp..  So im wondering what kind of groups i can expect with that weight, hopefully within 2"/100 because its not going to do anything serious, but would like to be somewhat close...i havent shot anything less than 62's which shot pretty decent for what it was.what about jacket failure on the 55's?  ..what are your guy's thoughts....

Get it.  there won't be any jacket problems.  Some guys say it doesn't shoot as well in thier 1/7 in regards to accuracy.  But I have been suspicious of most of those reports.  55 shoots great in my 1/7.  2"-ish is a reasonable hope for it.

For good groups black hills does well with about any bullet, so does Ultramax.  I was very impressed with how accurated the Hornady 60gr V-max bullet is.  I got my brother half a case of it loaded in black hills reman.  He lives in the country and has some varmint issues.  It is the most accuarate stuff ever fired through his AR. (He's never had SMK etc)
