| I just bought my first real precision ar. Its a RRA 18" Varmint. I want to get into reloading but before that happens i want to shoot some good factory match ammo. What bullet weight should I start with? Also the best places to buy. |

I personally think that the 1 in 8" twist is perfect. I wish all of my barrels were 1:8". With that said, have a look at the AMMO FAQ, Z added a section on bullet weight and twist rates. If you are interested in long rage shooting than pick a heavy bullet. Your 1:8" barrel will accommodate a wide variety of choices. Black Hills are very nice. I've gone through 1000s of them and was always pleased. The red box is new and the blue box is remanufactured from once fired brass. If money is not an object you can look into the more expensive match grade ammo from the major manufacturers. Best of luck and congratulations on your new purchase. |
