What do you guys recommend as a "break in" procedure for ARs?  Ammo, lube, etc...
What is the best ammo to use for this procedure, how many rounds warrants "broke in?"  Thanks in advance!

Unless it's a cut rifled barrel (Krieger, Boots Obermeyer), just shoot the darn thing cause you are wasting your time.

personally, I would break it in with at least 200 rounds of the best ammo you can afford.

after that, shoot the snot out of it with anything

field strip, clean, lube (CLP) it, shoot it (a couple hundred of quality BRASS ammo); repeat

Please read the stickies at the top of the forum. Start with the Ammo Oracle, and look at the ammo reviews.

Depends on the situation... if your being shot at... then any ammo is the best ammo

But you don't need to go all out and buy top of the line expensive shit... just stop by the local wally world and get some remington or winchester brass... after that you can bust off some cheapo wolf ( simply so u don't shoot a hole in your wallet)...

And don't forget the field strip and lube job (CLP) before you shoot it for the first time...
