There are no bargains.  If you can find "anything" less than $12.99 / 50, you're doing better than average.

Retail on most JSPs / JHPs is running $13.99 in my neck of the woods.  Cabela's had a bulk deal in the Fall Master Catalog I just threw out.  I never order from them...I don't want to pay their overhead for all those catalogs and monster stores.

My Savage and Ruger both seem to prefer the black box winchester Supreme JHPs, with the Remington Green tips a close second.  I have not had much luck getting the Federal to be consistent in my rifles.

I've whacked a bus load of coyotes and a handful of javelina with the Winchesters out as far as 125 yards.  Kills 'em dead.

I got a Marlin 992 Auto that I got for short range fox and coyote and cat and about five years back the local Holiday gas station here in Michigan  had a closeout on lots of ammo and I bought all they had about five or six ten box bricks of Federal 50 gr. HP for $2.99 a box. Also went to other area stores in other towns at that time and got all theirs also.
Glad I did as now got a lifetime supply and about choked a couple years after that seeing $7.99 a box.You may find some in out of the way stores out in the boonies if they are not picked clean of all older price ammo but is like all now high overpriced but still available

WTF!?!?

has it gone up that much? A few months ago I bought several boxes for $5.99 of 40gr Dynapoint Winchesters.

Over double since then? Maybe I got a deal at the time, I need to head back out there and see what the prices are.

Few months ago I bought a bunch Fioochi .22 WMR 40gr JSP from Northwest Loading Supply for $5.69 a box and they work great in my Marlin 982VS bolt.
Now they have CCI 40gr for $9.69 and he doesn't gouge on shipping.
check it out...

I have 3 .22 WMRs that I need to feed, so I just took a gamble on the ARMSCOR 40gr JSP stuff being sold by Sportsman's Guide.  The reports at RFC seem to indicate it is good stuff for general plinking and such, which is what I am looking for.  They only have the 1000rd and 2000rd deals going (all loose boxes show OOS), but for $93.07 ($97.97 for non-Club Members) for 20 boxes (1K), I am game..

Thanks for the heads up. I stopped dealing with SG but this looks like a deal worth pursueing.

CCI. I just include it in my monthly ammo purchase and it adds up. Only got about 250rds of it now though.

You just have to know how to pick your spots when dealing with them.  This deal has been in my ammo purchase rotation for a while.  Just don't be a pig and get declared a dealer!

The Fiocchi .22 WIN MAG 40gr. JSP I have is made in the Philipines as is the Armscor. I bet it's all made at the same plant.
