I'm wondering where some good places are online to buy ammo for cheaper in bulk. I mainly need lots of .223/5.56mm ammo and .45acp ammo for target practice. Thanks, Dave.

oh duh, i didn't see that there when i first looked at this page, thanks. It looks like Sportsman Guide has some good prices. Have you guys had any problems with them?

If you've got the time...

SG is known for taking months to fill ammo orders. I've only ordered from them once, 1000 rounds of Wolf 7.62, and it took three months to arrive. And I'm not an isolated case.

My rule of thumb with SG is to order only if it shows in stock (I never accept a Backorder). Doing this, I have not yet been caught up in the "wait until it gets here" situation.

As others say though, you are a little late to the party for the real good deals..

I ordered some ammo from AIM, figured it would take about 7-8 days at best to get to me. it was here in 4 days !! I ordered on a Fri night, after work, it was on my porch on tuesday afternoon !! Damn, I was very pleasantly surprised.
The delivery man didnt appreciate the weight of the boxes though.
