Guy has some ammo for sale today...says give me a decent price...some of it is LC green tip.83 and 86 headstamp ..he told me that it was tracers....is there any chance of this..

green tip means steel core penetrators if it was tracer it would be orange tipped never heard of this

Green tip LC isn't tracer, it's 62 gr. FMJ.

Tracers have an orange tip.

Don't you guys know anything? Those are special GTT (Green tipped tracers). Not visible with the naked eye. You can only see them wearing NOD's.

Was he an ex Special Ops guy also selling jerky?

I had a guy try to convince me once that the paint on the tip burned in flight and that's how a tracer worked. Whatever color of the paint on the tip, the color that the bullet would light up when shot.

Naw...I quit selling the Jerky, but i got a lot of that special green and purple bullet paint left!...any takers?...and i think a few pair of them special goggles but they aint cheap.

i check my supposed m855/ss109 witha small magnet, many ss109's are not painted.
