Got a chance to do some varmit control on a buddy's farm this evening.

Not going to go into detail as far as exactly what we were controlling (he's got a fairly large garden + chickens/guineas), no laws were broken at all, no deer or anything like that..hate to get some PETA crap stirred up. You never know who's lurking here. We shot only 3 rounds,  so nothing major. Typical "ranch rifle" type stuff.

Shooting UMC FMJ 55gr out of my RRA 16" Middy....shots were around 76-80 yards (conservative estimate). 3 shots, 3 "kills"....

I have shot varmits (coons, rabbits, coyotes, etc) with larger calibers before, but the damage done by these 55gr FMJ was outright shocking. I'd hate to see what some "real" bullets with hotter loads would do. The damage was FAR greater than anything I thought possible from a measly little .223.

Never again will i doubt what a .223 is capable of..
