Hello all, I'm sure you folks can help with thishaveThanks in advance. |

Can't help you with the twist -- call Ruger. 5.56 is fine in a Mini-14. I have a 70's vintage Ranch Rifle that has seen thousands of rounds of 5.56. Shoots as well today as it did when I got it for my 16th birthday. Try 55 and 62 grain and see what does better for you. Mine does better with 55. |

Ruger Mini-14s have been 1x9 twist for ages... They like 40gr to 69gr ammo... they have a "sweet spot" for 60gr V-Max ammo and 62gr Wolf JHP. The weak point is the traveling gas block system that moves ALOT of weight as part of the action. The hotter the ammo, the more flex the system undergoes. A "recon rail" helps ALOT. But, the darn things are about as jam proof as I have ever seen... WOLF ammo is what I feed mine regularly. |
Not back in the 80`s Thats why my CANADIAN SS109 KEY HOLE and the reason I called |
