| Out there in mountian country you guys probably got lots of Wallys to see if they stock the ammo at good low prices to feed the hungry but here in the midwest it is hit or miss especially since most of the stores got rid of the guns since the start of the year.I got three or four stores within 70 miles or so I call and check the supply of .223,.45 and 9mm.Been getting the Blazer brass in 45 and recently the 9mm in same and Federal 200 round 223 value paks.I make a trip for three or four of the 233 and get whatever they have in stock of the others I use which is up to maybe six or eight boxes. The Federal is now $57.88 and the clerks tell me that Winchester and Remington are supposed to go up about 8% in June and Federal is close by.After a trip tonite to flatten the credit card some more..... Michigan residents take note; The girl there said all Michigan hunt and fish tags are going up in two days,is on the computers there in store. On prices the clerks put the higher new price on tonites 223 but rang up at the old so happy I was with the gas saved going to get it.Near done of major ammo buys for a while as got lotsof brass in my calibers with powder and primers/bullets I will load and use first keeping the new as rthe stash.I usually have to calculate about when the truck shows to stock backordered stuff at WW but may be longer now as the kid couple days ago said it comes now from factories with their warehouses running outr of certain kinds |
Yep, same here. Every store I go into has several boxes on the shelf.
No problems with my RRA Entry Tactical. |
| The Federal 223 in Value Pack 200's shoot nicely and accurate in my S&W M&P target rifle. No feed troubles with the 20 round curved mags I got to use with the new rifle and I try to buy all I can afford which will continue until they raise the price over $60 there. At that point I go back to my loading stash of brass powder and bullets.Convenence is certainly nice but there are limits to what I can afford or want to pay |

I stop by the walmart almost every day (on the way home) to see if they've got any UMC on the shelves. Then i proceed to buy them out Three days ago I bought 7 boxes, they were out the next day, and yesterday they got some more in. I bought those 7 boxes as well.. 48.80 after tax. Better than no ammo, I guess. |
The really REALLY stupid kind. My bad, sorry! |
| The value pack HP shoot and function great in my guns. With a 3X9 Leupold, my S&W MPT shoots under an inch repeatedly. My M4A3 Bushy shot several 2"-21/2" groups yesterday with open sights (the best open sight shooting I've ever done). Given my eyes, I'll probably throw a scope on it temporarily just to see how well it will really do. Incidentally, over my chrony, this stuff was shooting 3030-3050fps. By comparison, Pri Partisan (sp?) 55g fmj were shooting 3115-3120fps, and Federal TRU 40ghp were 3410-3430fps. Performance wise, I love the stuff. It really tears jackrabbits up. Until prices come down(if they do), I'll buy every value pack I can get my hands on at this price. |
not bad. our wally world hasn't carried the varminter value packs for some time. But, I can get UMC 55gr. for $5.47 per 20 and 100rd. value packs of .40 FMJ for $19 and change. |

Wow! I actually got a fair deal on some ammo for once...thanks to this thread. Elkaddict - Thanks for the heads-up! To bad my Wally World only had 2 boxes on the shelf...now there's none left for anybody else. hough.
