What are you using the ammo for and what type of gun (specific's) are you using the ammo in?

Well it depends on whether the zombie you're shooting at has a helmet or not, and whether it's steel or kevlar. If it's a kevlar helmet wearing zombie, I'd go with the 77gr. but if it's just a zombie with a steel pot (or no helmet at all), 69gr. kills zombies dead easily at 1000 yards+. I make those shots all the time.

If you hit what you were aiming at:  Both would hurt.

wow..........thanks for all good the advice guys...............

I hope that this is just a saturday afternoon and all the shooters are actually out shooting....

Yes, I am aware that twist rate, barrel length and application do matter.  I am using primarily 20 inch 1:8 twist barrels and I am looking for the best accuracy and wind deflection out to 600 yards to shoot paper and the occassional steel target.  I have the ability to shoot both rounds with the current equipment I have.  Back in the good old days, I would simply have purchesed 100 rounds of each and tried some extensive tests. But, the days of cheap and availalbe ammo seem to be gone for at least a while and I was looking to make a case purchase of 1 or the other.

77gr 500yds = 1673 fps

Energy (foot pounds)
69gr 500yds = 394 ft-pds
77gr 500yds = 479 ft-pds
