Hi guys,

on a range here in Holland, I found a bunch of 7,62-mm cases with the headstamp LC LR 01 and LC LR 99. On the dents and markings on the casebody, I could tell that they are fired from a M14 rifle (my TRW makes excectly the same markings on a case!). Because I found the cases between the designated firingline, but between the 500 and 200 line, I think they must be fired by a goverment or army force. Its illegal for civilians to shoot enything else than the designated firingline.  Why I tell all this, well, we can't purchase Lake City ammunition, and our army doesn't use M14's or Lake City ammunition. My main question is, where does the 'LR' stands for? I think it means 'Long Range' or something. Because the cases don't hold the NATO-coss mark, could this be the famous M118 sniper ammo?

I hope that you guy's can help me.

thanks in advance,

Roger

It is M118; the LR just designates a different (better) brass.

Oke, thanks! To bad they just where empty cases. I would love to know the ballistics and build up from that cartridge.

Thanks for your reaction,

Greets,
