Ok here is the million dollar question,Why is surplus 5.56 ammo going up on cost everday? It is not being made with new materials as it has been made from 1 year to 30 years ago and still the cost of it goes up every week by about $10-$20 each time one of the vendors get it in stock? Now are they having fun just raping us while they feel that Stateside manufactured ammo is in short supply and high demand?I am sure some of the folks here with lots of $$$ to piss away are buying cases at a time they will never shoot hoping for it to get worse or for bans this next year so they can make some extra $$ also.As there is no way 1 man can or will shoot 10,000-20,000 rounds of 5.56 atleast no in my eyes i can see it happening.I mean that is 30-60 rounds shot everyday for a year, who has the time?Or 200 rounds every weekendYet alone $3500 just for 10,000 rounds of 5.56 surplus at the going rate,Wewwwwwwwww i picked the wrong job

There is a ammo price/availability bitching thread tacked to the top of this forum where this should be so I'm going to guess this will be locked.

Anyway, IBTL, I think the reason we keep hearing is that it's costing more for the importers to import this surplus and thats raising the prices, not to mention I think other countries are buying it up because of the WOT.  Who really knows, it's all expensive and getting hard to find.  The real sick part is that it's going to get worse before it gets better, if it gets better which I doubt.

LOL not bitching as it wont help,Seems 5.56 is about like a Oil commodity doesnt it?What they bought 20 years ago sitting upshore in storage tanks for $20 a barrel and what they pay today of $65 a barrel and we pay todays price that has not even been put on the tanker ship to be brought over and hasnt even landed at the refinery and we get to pay the extra .40 overnight while we sleep.Hahahahahaha just got to love how this country keeps taking care of 3rd world low life countries and destroying there own economy and morale.

Because vendors have discovered that buyers will pay whatever price is asked of them. They, as vendors, would be foolish not to keep raising prices on their limited product so long as the buyers keep buying.
