I'm guessing that that is Radway and the tracers were taken out.  I think he didn't put the Radway back onto the clips.

Yup!  That's the way they come.  I went through two cans and put them back on them and put them in the bandoleers.  I still have two cans left to do.

Thanks for this thread, I think it helped save me some great grief.

I went down to the basement to snap a couple pics of some guat when I discovered some issues.

Top of the pile crate, after seeing that I pulled all of the boxes out and set them aside to dry out.  Opened a couple and no major damage done, from here I went through about 3 or 4 more crates to make sure they were ok and it wasn't until the 4th one that I didn't find any water inside.

This is the water that came out of one box of ammo.

This stuff was sitting under the upstairs bathroom and we had a little water issue recently where I had a bad caulk seem and some water came down, I noticed it in a different part of the basement but not on my guat.  I stripped things out, replaced the stems and re-caulked the bathroom tub.  I think I'll still through a small tarp over this ammo to be safe for a few years down the road.

Here are some other pics.

some of the other crates I had to cut the band on to check.  I'll leave them open to dry for a few days just to be safe.

huh, a bad one already, think I'll try and shoot it anyway.

Oh man, I'm working on it, I'm one drink in so it'll be getting better soon.

There are some small water spots on a few of the rounds but not nearly as bad as some of the pics I've seen of the battle packed guat.  That and the knowledge that it'll function fine regardless is helping ease the pain.

Next to the guat is a lot of 7.62x54r in crates but I'm not going to start cracking those as the spam cans should have them protected better than the guat which btw the black plastic helped keep things from being a complete catastrophe.

No kidding.  I think I have about 9 not in use and 10 on the way from a friend that I'll see on St. Pattys day.  After this I think I may have to get more from them and convert everything over as all of my ammo is in it's original container.  The good thing is they get the cans for 3 bucks each.

How many 30 round boxes of guat can you fit in a .50 cal ammo can btw?

990 in a reg 50 can and 1560 in a "fat" 50 can. You can fit 1620 in tho, it's just a case of Guat is 1560 rounds. Thats ammo thats still in the box.

Yup, RG from AIM Surplus.  Good company and a site sponsor.

They pull all the tracers, so some strippers only have a few rounds on them.  I just pull them off the stripper clips, grab my LULA and load mags rather quickly.

some 9mm reloads
i5.pbase.com/o6/57/391557/1/74751313.x4thLLAT.pbaseammoDSC03715.JPG

I'm going to sound like a big fat stupid retard, but I'm willing to take the risk. There's a cool optical illusion with the 9mm reloads picture. At least on my computer. The lines seem to be perfectly in-line with the X and Y axes of my monitor (i.e. they're straight up and down and horizontal). Also, when I scoll up with the mousewheel, each square in the case matches perfectly the one above/below it (depending on the way I'm scrolling). If I focus on the bottom two middle rounds (or the one on the middle right or left, doesn't matter, as long as I'm keeping my point of focus the same), and keep my focus on the same spot on the monitor, and not the picture itself, the perspective of the picture make's it look like the case and accompanying rounds are actually tilting forward and backwards when I scroll up and down with the wheel. I was mezmorized by that for about 10 minutes
