I got a new gun safe a while back so I converted my old 14-gun Sentry safe into an ammo safe. There isn't enough room for everything but it holds most of it and it holds it in a small amount of floor space.

I feel so inferior to the guy above that must have sold a kidney for just his may purchases.
I only bought a measly 800 rounds of 64g speer gold dots. But I still got a few weeks till may is over. I'm hoping for some good memorial day sales. |

It wouldn't take long at all. You know as well as I do you can't fit very many bricks of Golden Bullet in a .50cal can. There's probably 3500-4000 each in the two cans in the safe. The other can next to the safe has a mixture of GB, CCI, and Automatch. Then there's the .30cal can I filled full of CCI 100-packs for the wife that isn't in the picture. Probably 12k in 22lr total if I had to guess. |

What's the ammo whore's proper ratio per AR? I just got 1000 wolf gold and 1100 more showing up tomorrow. I'm somewhere north of 8K... That's a good start. Since you are in CA how long does it take you to shoot that ammo with the bullet button?
Fortunately I'm here temporarily. I only have a token amount with me. Most of my collection is in Michigan.
When I'm home I'll take pictures for this thread.

Edit to stay on topic. Last week, I bought 1k of wolf gold 223, 500 fed 9mm and 3 325 count boxes of fed .22. I don't know why I bought the .22. Don't need any but I was shocked there were like 12 boxes on the shelf at walmart. So, why not. Right? |

I don't have enough. Just north of 2k of 5.56 and a bit over 1k for 9mm. Those are the two I shoot the most. Then about 5k of .22lr. Problem is I have too many calibers. I also need match-grade .308 and Garand-safe 30-06. Oh, and 20ga shotgun.
Argh! I'll probably focus on 9mm and 20ga until November. I don't shoot enough to burn through all that 5.56 very fast anyway. What I really need to do is get the gun collection down to 4-5 and cut back different calibers.

I am confident that 5,000 rounds of 5.56, 3,000 rounds of 40 S&W and 15,000 rounds of .22 LR will get me through any social uprising or the first season of the Walking Dead.
