| I just got some "new" Guat and it is packaged in a wooden box wrapped in black plastic. It has obviously been stored this way since 2000. Will it continue to last packaged like this or should I buy some ammo boxes and store it that way? It isn't sealed at all and that doesn't seem to be proper storage even for 6 years. I can't believe that would have lasted too long in Guatamala's environment. |
You need to see if the packaging has been compromised. I've been in Guat. Hardly the garden spot of the western hemisphere. Pull the ammo, inspect, then store in GI ammo cans away from heat. |
| I would just store in ammo cans with dessicant packs. Question for those of you who store with dessicant packs, how long do they last before they turn pink? I got mine in the oven right now and they turned from pink to dark blue in 1 hour even though the instructions say 3 hours to charge at 300. |
I did the same with my first crate. Putting ammo on stripper clips sucks. I've got 1500 rounds of IMG and 1500 rounds of XM193 on strippers in Bandoliers packed in 50 cal cans. I'm debating on doing the last case of IMG. |
