I bought 10 boxes of the bulk pack WWB ammo this weekend.
Is this considered good enough ammo to justify a search for more at any Wal Marts that may have been missed in this weekend's raids?
I mean, is it as good as the milsurp everyone hunts for?

In a related question, do you think this weekend's buying spree by us will cause Wally World to want to stock more of this fast selling ammo?

I like it...  It isn't as hotly loaded as milsurp ammo (its loaded to SAAMI .223 specs), which causes some people to shun it.  However, in my experience the brass is great for reloading, its clean shooting, and non-smelly. accuracy is as good or better than most non-match and reliably in general is exellent.  I personally really don't find a need for the small extra bit of velocity milspec ammo gives.

I think the WWB is good ammo. I don't know if I have ever read about anyone having problems with it. (except lack of finding it). Made in Israel, but not as powerful as M193. I scarfed up a bunch when it was $7.73/box. (0.20/rnd) w/8.25% tax.

When the price went to $9.98/box (0.27/rnd w/tax) a lot of people (me included) thought is was not worth it for that price. If you bought it for $7.00/box (clearance price) I think its a good deal as that makes it 0.18/rnd w/tax.

If you live near San Antonio and found 10 boxes, good for you.... I have tried 7 Walmarts in the area and came up w/3 boxes

I agree w/SoftwareJanitor the slower velocity does not bother me. When I am out on the range, it seems to go downrange as fast as everyone else's ammo.

Not all "Winchester white box" is made in Israel.  The stuff that is specifically marked "Made in USA", for example, is of course not...  There are at least 4 different versions of WWB out there in current distribution.

At the current price of WWB, it is cheaper to buy Federal American Eagle from Wideners. I got 1k delivered for $218 last week.

OK, I stand corrected.....
I should have said:
every one of the 30 boxes that I have purchased have been stamped 'Made in Israel".....
Your results may vary

Yep...  I've been buying WWB for over 15 years...  These are some of the recent boxes I've gotten though:

The boxes not marked "Made in USA" are "Made in Israel".

I like it.  Can't find it locally anymore.  They bumped the price up a couple of months ago and then no one would buy it.  Saw today there isn't even a tag on the shelf for it.

I'm just north of Ft.Worth. All the WWB I bought was $7.00 each for the 40 round bulk pack.

The WWB I have been buying is the 40 round value pack that seems to be made in Israel.
I did notice that CTD has the 20 round WWB that, I think, has the Q3131A stamp on it.
Is the Q3131A milspec?

Save yourself some driving time.  Have the sales person scan the item and then do a mile radius check.  For example, a 100 miles radius check will tell you how many Ball Marts have the ammo and how many boxes are available.

They told me at sevearl walmarts 4 months ago it had been discontinued. Some stores would still get a few from what was left at the warehouse.
I should have know since I like it so well. Its some of the most accurate 55 FMJ I have found for the money.

In the pic above there are 4 boxes listed:

1. Q3131A - This is M193 (55gr) 5.56 spec load (milspec for lack of a better term)
2. USA223R1 - This is .223 spec 55gr. (SAAMI). Good plinking round.
3. USA223R1VP - This is .223 spec 55gr (SAAMI) value pack. Good plinking round. Walmart was selling this for $7.73 (good price). Lately most Walmarts sell it for $9.98 or more (not a good price). Good plinking round.
4. USA223R3 - This is .223 spec 62gr (SAAMI). Good plinking round.

All Winchester brass is good.

IMO, if you can get Q3131A, for $250 or less, buy it all! However, the .223 spec stuff is now so expensive, that it is cheaper to buy Federal American Eagle as long as it comes with LC brass. You can get 1k for $220 shipped. Then keep the brass and sell it on the EE reloading board for $25+. That brings your costs to $195 or less.

ETA: WWB (Winchester White Box) is usually reserved for the .223 spec. Q3131A and Q3131 are generally called by their names and not WWB as they are so different.

I bought my first M4M3 Bushy last Nov.  They thru in  500 rds. 62 gr. hp. wolf with it. I went to Wally W. and bought some of the 40 rd. VPs to go to the first range trip to compare the two different bullet weights.

The wwb was far better. Some thing told me to buy as much of the wwb as I could while its was @ 7.73 a box .  As soon as I had  around 245 boxes ( 9800 rds. ) the price went to 9.98 and the supply went dry in the Tampa area

I have since bought 2K of XM193 and 2K of M855 and the wwb is the most accurate out of my two  M4M3s and the 20 in. Bushy  Predator varmint rifle .   I will try some Black Hills one day when I become a better shooter.

Ps. I shot the wally world 45 gr. varmint in the 1/8  predator barrel, it was not as good as the 55 gr. wwb at 100 yds.  but it worked great in the 16 in . 1/9 barrels

I shot some WWB a couple of weeks ago after I had found what was causing my Colt to string groups. I managed to put 4 or 5 rounds in the X-ring, 3 in the 10-ring and I pulled 2 into the 9-ring, all at 100 yards. I didn't have time to let the barrel cool, and actually shot about 100-150 rounds in an hour of range time.
That is probably about as accurate as I can get with a stock Colt HBAR barrel and a stock trigger.

Just north of Austin and just got back from two Walmarts, both have the 40-rd box of WWB, but it was $15.xx each, and I had them scan it.

Which two?  I usually go to the one at I35 and Parmer in N. Austin or the one at I35 and 1325/Louis Henna in Round Rock.  Neither have had any WWB in the last few weeks when I was there.  Last time they did have it was $7.73 for a 40 round value pack.  They did have Remington UMC at 3.97 for a 20 round box though.  I haven't checked at the one at 620 & 183 up by Cedar Park or the Georgetown Wal-Mart recently though.

The only $15 a box Winchester .223 I've seen at a Wal-Mart recently was the 45gr JHP stuff in the big vertically packed 40rd box.

one of the dept. managers was working at the local walfart Sunday evening, I went looking for WWB, but all they had was the HP Varmit pack for $15. They did have 7 boxes of UMC for $4.78, i bought that.
I asked the guy when they would order more ammo..he said probably never, walfart was getting out of the guns-n-ammo biz ..and to quote the little guy " I did'nt blame them, I did'nt like selling that stuff anyway."
