Just reading a add for 50 Cal  ammo.  States 12,446fps & 2446 ft-lbs.  I can't imagine over 12K foot per second.  Misprint???

think of a .50BMG as a .30-06 on steroids.

Cal .50,Ball,M33 -
661gr. FMJ @ 2910FPS  - 11-12,000 foot pounds of muzzle energy.

For comparison a .460 Weatherby  shoots a 500gr. slug @ 2700FPS for roughly 8100 foot pounds of muzzle energy.

Yep, a 50BMG will not stop for much of anything.  Your chances would be greater taking on a Mac truck.

It's been that way in their catalog for years... you think someone should tell them?

I was sitting on the crapper looking through it and I noticed the FPS and I figured it couldn't be right.  Cheaper Than Dirt sure is expensive.
