I've been asking the same kinda questions in the last few days

Good defense - Hornady TAP 55, 60 or 75gr, Lake city M193 55gr, or Winchester Q3131A 55gr

Good plink - American Eagle 55gr

Fixed it for you. 55 & 60gr TAP are not up to the task - unless your home is being invaded by prarie dogs.

Forest,

Question: If both q3131A and Lake city M193 which are both 55gr are recomended for defense, why is the 55gr TAP no sufficient?

Because it is a frangible bullet. It is designed to release it's energy upon impact, with very little penetration.
