I just picked this up from my local dealer - the box was sealed with a thin wire and lead seal.

$175...not great but, I couldn't pass it up. Check out the string on the center box to pull it out easier.

I would buy it all day for that price. Nice find.

yep, you done good. I have a few hundred rounds of that same stuff (mine is lot: tz 209 -81 ) left. If i would have known it was gonna get scarce I wish I would have bought more when it was cheap. It's good stuff.

I bought a few hundred rounds of lot 225-82 and had some major problems. It is really hot ammo and it would not extract well. I was getting tears on the rim while ejecting and pieces of brass would build up in the upper and stop the bolt from fully seating. I would have a live round chambered, the bolt not completely forward and would not budge even with the forward assist. I had to take the upper off of the lower to get the live round out.

It is good ammo I just got a bad lot.

Great...

I kind of wonder why the can was marked in Spanish...

But if it's TZZ, it's made by IMI. If it's NOT TZZ, then it's something else all together and I'd be curious what it really is.

Ok - I've done some research and gound out that this is indeed manufactured by IMI. The markings on the box(es) are in Portugese, not Spanish. Apparently, IMI contracted with Portugal during the 1980's (and other countries) to supply them with M193 ball.

The "TZ" marking is indicaive of IMI - refer to here.

Very interesting (and I was on the edge between Spanish and Portugese). I have seen posts about what I would call "forged" headstamps, particularly in Chinese-made, brass cased rounds. They seem to like using other people's headstamp codes, or something close enough to give the impression that they're making the "real thing" instead of their own crap. It's nice to know that IMI is helping keep the consumer informed.

What a find! I wish I'd seen something like that!

I'm heading out tomorrow to the range to try out some of this out...more to follow. Today, I picked up 28 - 20 round boxes of LCA XM193 - Lot 2 (white boxes). for $4.00 per box

Update for the IMI stuff:

25 meter targets - size adjusted for 25 yards.
Rifle is a RRA Elite UTE2 - iron sights - sighted in for LCA M855

First 6 rounds in left target - remaining 14 rounds in right target

I shot another 20 rounds at 50 yards with good results. No problems to report. Shells were not ejected as far as the M855 were.

Good stuff...
