Was at a show today and a guy was selling AE223 for $106.00 per 500. He was also selling XM-193 for $116.00 per case, I bought 2 500 round boxes from him at the Valley Forge Show for $186.00 in September. But I did get a 900 round box of the green tip on strippers for $216.00, not bad compaired to the on line prices. Back to the AE223 whats your opinion, I want to save my 2700 rounds of XM-193 and dont' really like the Wolf but I do shoot it... Joe |

If your interest is HD/SD or you are a small LE buyer, check this link from Federal covering all their .223 rounds: le.atk.com/223data/223rifle.asp In it you'll see that AE223 performs quite well in bare gel and heavy clothing scenarios, and well against all barriers except auto glass. cnorton is right -- it doesn't tend to chrono up there w/ XM193. Nonetheless, looks like a pretty darned decent round. |
| I have been very happy with the performance of this round. No feeding/extraction problems quit accurate and fairly clean. Good ammo for practice. I hate to pass along info I may have read online but I think I remembered reading that this was or is the FBI training ammo. |

Excellent round - no problems. Clean, accurate, and readily available. Sealed so it stays fresher longer. I like it better than the WWB and I get the AE223 cheaper than the WWB VP's. Worth the savings. Not enough diff AE223 v 193 to worry about. The AE223 is excellent for SD (especially at close range). It shoots same POI as the Fed classic SP - which is an excellent SD round. Train with AE223 and load TRU 55gr SP or the Fed classic SP for SD. |
