| Have any of you guys used this ammo. How did you like it. Would you order more of it. |
|
I'll be interested to hear how this ammo performs. I wonder why they're importing military ammo here; as Troy has pointed out on many occasions, all ammo "surplus" sold consists of QC rejects of some minor (or maybe major) kind. Wonder what's up with the ADCOM stuff. I'll probably start a ammo review poll topic with it if it becomes more pervasive. |

Some further info on the ADCOM M855, courtesy of AIM Surplus and Century: Manufactured in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for Saudi armed forces. Headstamps include years 2003, 2004. Originally exported from UAE to Century International Arms, Inc. AIM Surplus has 3,000,000 rounds on hand, $170/1000 + shipping. AIM not sure why this ammo is surplus. Century, the original importer, received 2,000,000 rounds late August, now out-of-stock, doesn't expect additional shipments. |

Just waiting on an order I placed myself for 1,000. So we'll see how good it is. Also I think this is the key to why we are seeing it:
|
| I ordered from AIM last Monday, should have been here on friday, was going to try it out this weekend. I had them hold my order til it came in, they said it would ship on wendsday, I get the feeling that they are swamped with orders for this stuff, I hope they did not oversell it, I'll be pissed if they did. At least send my other ammo out. |
| My order arrived today. The ammo looks like new production its shiny like Q3131a minus the annealing. I fired 30 rounds and they all went bang and hit what i was aiming at. I plan on firing some more this weekend. Looks like i may end up buying another case or 2. |
Verdict not in yet if good for Tiekwando scenario..... actually, ANY ammo is better than no ammo for TEOTWAWKI situation.![]() I hope to get to shoot some this Sat. my 1K order arrived today $180 total including shipping! not bad for M855 type ammo. new looking brass, polished, no annealing coloration left, sealed at primer, not sure about bullet, date stamp 00, nice crimp on canneleure, not green tip colored, very pointy bullets like ss 109 should be, comes in 20 rnd box with plasic dividers. I can't wait to try it! |
Thanks. Also, talked with AIM, they would like to carry this but do not know how much they will be able to get in and when. He said it was selling quite well and asked me how I liked it. Told him well enough to order more. He said some people were leery because of the name and area from whence it came. It DID originally go to Century as the shipping stencelling on my box clearly states that Century was the original customer. I checked up on the manufacturer before I ordered, not a fly by night company by any means. |

picked up some this week, will chrony it in a 14.5 inch bushy saturday morning, and try to post by saturday evening. I thought Collin said he was going to test some, but I imagine when he got it home to put it away it was sort of like the last scene from raiders of the lost ark. RMT |
Yes, I pulled a few bullets and they are sealed. Happy with mine, ran another 100 with no problem. The Flash hole is larger then I expect to see but I doubt that is a problem. No signs of primer problems after shooting it. |
I bought some Adcom at Rainier guns in lakewood today (seeing you're a WA native too) and I got one bullet out of 40 that wasn't spotless, shiny, and beautiful like every other one. I decided to pull that one, and found a decent amount of sealant on the bullet. About as much as British RORG (dated '94) which happens to be a lot more then the Lake City stuff: for comparison, I have a sample of '01 M855 from ammo-man, and lot 103 of XM193. This stuff is golden, i thank God or Allah (as it's made in the UAE) for making another plentiful ammunition source. It's not overpriced either!!! well, when ordering online that is! |

That's a real good question. The factory is a new facility and maybe they are looking for some export business but I would doubt they are having any problems arranging local sales at the moment! This is awfully new ammo to have been surplussed. Usually there is some kind of problem with surplus ammo as Troy has stated but so far noone has found any with this stuff. It seems to work in all kinds of guns-14" and up, accuracy and velocity seem to be in the right neighborhood. The thing with a factory is that it needs to run....you have people to pay and facilities to keep up and certain fixed costs. You would think they would want to run and sell ammo all the time especially if this is a private venture. Making money is kind of the point..... If this is excess production then I think we will see more. Century has an "in", they imported the 5 million rounds now in the country. If there is more in the future I would think they would bring it in as long as it is selling -and it seems to be selling. |
I hope it becomes a regular. M855 specs and I got 2k for 350 out the door, it's hard to beat that... |
