My local gun club does some "action shooting" matches that I'd like to get involved with. The fliers say "NO FMJ AMMO ALLOWED AT ANY EVENT (except hollow points or open back bullets)". The only HP rounds I've seen for 223 are Federal 69 grain JHP at $12/box, which is about twice what I can afford. Does anyone know of any cheaper ammo that would be allowed? (I'm using a 20" Bushmaster HBar, 1/9 twist) |
Ammoman.com No shipping fees, Eric is always reliable. You can do the Wolf polymer coated JHP (he has it too) at about 10 cents a round, but don't expect stellar accuracy or muzzle velocity. It's OK for plinking and muscle memory training, the new polymer coating is AR friendly. Check out the AR15..COM Ammo forum, all this has been discussed ad nauseaum (and then some) over there. |
| Nevermind, I just saw this. He won't ship to where I am. Is that JHP wolf stuff what I should be looking for? |
Save your energy. No dealers will ship ammo to MA.Unfortunately, unless you have a FFL,you have to buy ammo locally. |
