Wolf caused massive excessive wear in my gun. $100/1000 rounds will do that, you know.

Wolf sucks! It never  jams and I can't keep enough of it in stock!

now if they just figured out a way to brass case it, load it to 5.56 pressure, and use a true M193 bullet....they'd be unstoppable....oh ya and keep the price the same

I don't know if it was priced wrong but Wolf .45 was $50 for 500rds today at Gander Mtn.  I'm going back on monday to see if it's still there.

I like Xm193, but i just can't pay the extra money for half the amount of ammo.

load it to 5.56 pressure

I totally agree.  If it was as fast as XM193 it would be the perfect plinking ammo.  Maybe we could all write the Wolf company and request that.

I shot some of it last Saturday at a three gun. Haven't had any problems with it as far as FTF, FTE, fouling, ect. I definitely noticed a difference when I went from shooting a magazine of Q131A to a magazine of the polymer coated 55 grainers. I'd recommend it for plinking ammo.

I wonder if its even possible? Just cuz of the steel case I mean...wouldnt it cause it to split? hmmm Maybe someone should try and reload one (I know yer not supposed to, but I know people have) and see if it will at least handle a hot load....or just pull the bullet off a factory loaded one and reload it that way.

All they really have to do to really make an impact is getting rid of that smell.

My Clubs uses empty Wolf casing to scare away skunks.

Nice ammo, bad smell.

Nice ammo, bad smell.

Use Barnual instead then. There's no odor like I've smelled in some South African, Wolf or Czech .223 loads. I'm making an assumption though that the 5.45x39 I shoot out of my SAR-2 is just like Barnual's .223 loads as far as odor is concerned.

Wolf is the best  And I mean it.

It is a little underpowered but it knocks down bowling pins just fine. Plus it is accurate.

I've already complained about the low powder charge in the 55gr ammo.

They said they would contact the engineers and check it out.

I think it is because Wolf .223 is for SAAMI .223 chambers and not for 5.56x45 chambers that can see more pressure and hotter loads.

The only real problem with it is that if I don't get out to the range every couple of weeks or so the stuff starts to pile up around here.

TOP TEN Reasons Not To Use Wolf Ammo

10.  Causes excessive traffic in shipping lanes as all those shiploads of ammo cross the ocean.

9.  Causes excessive wear on America's highways as all those UPS trucks deliver the stuff.

8.  Tires out all those UPS drivers who have to bring it to your door.

7.  Depletes the world's supply of steel and lead.

6.  Shooting too much Wolf in one spot causes local gravity anomalies.

5.  Greedy American shooters depriving hard-working, long-suffering Russians of ammo.

4.  Widespread use of  inexpensive ammo will make new AR's even harder to come by.

3.  Shooting all that ammo will increase greenhouse gasses and cause global warming.

2.  The Lake City snobs will laugh at you.

And the number one reason not to use Wolf ammo:

1.  You'll spend less time on AR15.com because you're too busy shooting.

It's all underpowered and stinks!   Shooting 45acp from my AR literally will start your eyes burning.   I'll shoot reloads in that rifle instead.   For my 1911's it's decent stuff for plinking with and almost as cheap as reloading without the hassle.   Buy from Miwall for about $95/K.

In 5.56 I've had a few issues with the newer stuff in one finicky upper that runs fine with M193.   My Colt eats it no problem and I'll see how the new Cav chrome lined upper runs.   It's unarguably the cheapest plinking ammo you can buy but not by much anymore.   I've found Olympic M193 selling for $124/K.   Wolf locally runs $95ish/K.

You notice a big difference firing m193 or standard 230gr ball then switching to wolf.   I really wish they'd load a bit hotter and use less stinky/acrid propellant.

The local Gander Mtn has a nice stock of wolf .223 for $2.49/box.  Not too bad of a price for something I can pick up locally.  It gets even nicer when I use of the $10 off coupons (need to buy $50).

2.49 * 20 = 49.80 (-10) = 39.80 + 2.39 (tax) = 42.19

Which comes out to ~10.5 cents a round, like I said... pretty good price for local.
