I got some Lake City and that was on the side of the box.

So what is up with that? Should I watch for squibs? Or is it just not sealed?

Take it out and shoot it up, it will work just fine

Just do not take a shower with it and you should be fine.

Or was this ammo made in Israel and can't be used against Islamic Bad Guys because it is coated in pig grease?

No one knows for sure.  But if it were unsafe, they wouldn't have released it.

If it's the XM855 stuff, the word I got from a distibutor was that the primer sealant was contaminated with dust during manufacture.

Most manufacturers who market "Mil-Spec" M193 like ammo are either taking "factory seconds" that would otherwise go to the military and packaging them for civilian sale or reducing the second inspection of rounds before distribution. Ammo destined for the government is tested in lot batches and the entire lot is rejected if the batches fail spec tests.  Generally, this ammo is still excellent for both plinking and defensive use.  XM193 and Q3131a in particular are exceptional rounds for all around civilian use and still show very reliable function in AR15s.

Read the text on the Cabelas ad.  The stuff (if its the same) is over run production and must be labeled that way so it cannot be used to fill the current military contract, but may be sold as surplus.  It specifically states that it is not substandard ammunition in any way and is current military spec ammo.

I wondered that same thing and read their ad.  I'll be buying some myself soon.
