Just got back from Blue Trail Range with my son. He picked up a case from Ammoman.

All green tips, LC 03 brass in very good mil-spec condition. Appears primer sealant was inconsistent, some rounds had evident primer sealant, some had only a purple hue on the primer face, some had only traces or no sealant at all in the pockets.

All went bang, and very consistent sound, a hard bang compared to the M193's crack.  No apparent flash.

VG accuracy. Used my 3-9 x 40 scope at 100 yds and kept all the hits in the center.

Compared the sound and POI to some Win USA 62 I had, which I also find very accurate in my 1x9.  Win 62 only slightly cooler, confirming the ballistics table comparison I worked up recently. Did not have to adjust the scope at all.

Wanted to try both out at 200 yds, but there was a match going on and every point was occupied.

Great stuff. Definitely intend to get more.

Try some of those magic green tips at 600 yds !

M855 isn't worth the extra $.

JoeInCT thanks for the range report. I got my M855 from Cabelas. I was able to shoot about two hundred rounds at some soda cans while I was out camping with my son. All that I shot went bang and cycled through my rifle consistantly. I was not able to bench test any of it for groups yet, but your range report is reassuring. I bought this ammo to have something a little different. I have two cases of Q3131A and one case of IMI M193 already. Thanks Again for posting your experience wih this Ammo.

I agree.    In fact, it should be sold at a discount to M193.  But I don't think anyone is paying a premium for this stuff.  It's probably a decent plinking ammo, however.

I agree, if you can get LC XM193 for less, go for it.
But LC has ramped up production to meet current .mil demands and has cut back/stopped producing XM193, but as a result, they do now have suprlus XM855. Which is only marginally more expensive than XM193. Hopefully, the mini boom of XM855 making the rounds will cause the price to drop.

It's a good deal for CT folks cause you'd probably pay $50-$75 more at a local shop for the same stuff you get at a better price from Ammoman, plus Eric's a great guy, and it's extermely convienent to be able to drive the 20min to pick it up yourself........then bring it home to shoot it all with your father, can't beat it.......and yes I hope that the price does drop due to them going round the clock at Lake City crankin these rounds out for our Military who needs it the most.
