I'm signed up for Gunsite's 223 class in September, and the information packet says I will need frangible ammo. Their pro shop has it, but at $25.99 for a box of 20, I imagine I could probably get it cheaper elsewhere.

Ammoman doesn't have any, last time I looked, and my local gun shops don't carry it.

Any help, please?

Oh, and a question. I plan on using Winchester Q3131A for class, and I wonder if ballisticlly similar frangible stuff is available. Granted, this is for use in the simulators, but you never know when you might have to make a longer shot.

Wow, Gunsite requires frangible?

Yea, it drew a raised eyebrow from me, too. I was there last August for 250, and it wasn't needed then. The little slip says that it started recently; Febuary, IIRC. I don't have it in front of me.

Also, just after I posted the lead post in this, I checked ammoman. Sure enough, they have 50 grain frangible. $129 for 500. SOLD! I hope they still have it in July, when I get back from deployment.

Check twice, post once.

It's a PLOT, I TELL YA! A DIRTY, STINKING PLOT!
