I was in the gunstore today and bought some ammo that was on stripper clips and in a bandolier. The bandolier said M193 on it, but the gunstore owner said the ammo was Q3131A. He said it was made by Winchester for the Australian military. He didn't seem to sure about himself, and I've heard a bunch of BS from him before. The headstamp is marked: WCC 87 Also, on the bandolier it there is a marking that says: WCC87K001-002 Can anyone help me figure out what this stuff really is? Thanks |

It's M193 55 grain ball made by Winchester Cartridge Corp. (Company?) in 1987. I've got two [s]870[/s] 840 round cans of it in the next room (minus a couple of hundred rounds, heh), 7 pouch bandoliers, two 10-round stripper clips per pouch. Exact same Lot # on both cans. Made for the Aussie army? I have no way of knowing that. A bunch of this stuff popped up a few months ago on Ammoman.com and some of us grabbed it. It shoots fine in my Bushmaster - that's all I wanted from it. |

Quoted: 7 pouch bandoliers, two 10-round stripper clips per pouch. Exact same Lot # on both cans. Yup, that's exactly what I bought. Thanks for the info....appreciate it. Going to go shoot it tomorrow. Didn't realize I was buying 17 year old ammo, but if it shoots that's all I care about. |
