| Where is the cheapest place to pick up a case or two of 230 grain ball .45acp? I have ordered from Natchez in the past before I started coming here and wanted to know if there was a cheaper place? Thanks. |

The Hunting Shack was selling it at Tulsa last fall for $150 per thousand, pretty good stuff I've run quite a bit through a Reising M50 without any problems. www.thehuntingshack.com it may not be listed on the website, but they've got it. You can also call them at (406)777-2106 Edited to activate url. |

I shoot a lot of CCI Blazer in my USP45 with good results. It's currently $7.80 per box at natchez here Their shipping rates are pretty decent too. |
| Yeah the last time I ordered I got the Blazer stuff. It wasn't bad but two or three of the boxes had several (more like half) of the bullets had hard primers that wouldn't go bang on the first hit. As for the Wolf stuff I have heard bad reviews on that. Something about specs are off and if you shoot it alot it will warp your barrel. I don't know might be total BS. Thanks for the suggestions. |

Yep, shipping .45ACP is a major part of the cost per individual case. Local suppliers who buy it by the pallet can often sell it cheaper than you can order it delivered to your house, even including the sales tax issue. I've never, ever heard oa a cartridge "warping a barrel." In any caliber. Many folks who know more than the engineers who designed their weapons substitute things like reduced power mainsprings to lighten their trigger pull, or extra power firing pin springs to serve what purpose I've no clue. Some of these same folks are surprised they get light firing pin strikes. No one here, of course. [;)] -- Chuck |
