I'm not into reloading yet, but is this a good deal

http://www.bushmaster.com/shopping/brass.asp

Oncefired brass, 1000 pieces for 20$... "once fired, crimped pocket primer .223 brass casings"

If it isn't, I'll delete this thread...

Was just browsing Bushmaster online and it seemd okay.  *shrug*

I looked around to the placed I usually get my brass from and it seems like it is an "average" price.

Only problem would be removing the primer crimp and that isn't that big of a deal since you only have to do it once.

Average price eh?  Well, let's see one more post (some people's average price is another perons' bargain)... worst case, source is good.

Just trying to help.

It's an OK deal as long as you are willing to spend time decrimping the primer pockets.  This has already been done with brass through Midway USA and the price is about $33 per thousand.  Midway's brass is also polished too.

It really depends on how much brass prep you want.

It's a good price if you don't mind reaming out the crimp.  Personally, I like Midway's brass by the 2500 bucket, reamed, cleaned, and tumble polished at $81.  .0324 vs .020 per round but worth the extra .0124!  I have used it for almost 15 years.

If you want to save a lot of time go to www.scharch.com   They have brass polished, sized, primer pocket reamed and ready to go. Around $35 per thousand. It works for me.

Is Midway and Sharch bulk brass all the same mfr?    Segregating out several thousand to get the same mfr for uniformity of loads is probably worth a few cents a round, and more once you get a few thousand into the project.  Then again for bang-bang down the range it isn't necessary.
