What is the difference between .30-30 and .30 WCF? What is WCF?

My father has an old Winchester model 1894 with caliber .30 WCF stamped on the side. It has an octagon barrel and is nickel plated. I looked it up in the Guntraders Guide and they start at a $1000.00

Thanks.

It's the same.  The earlier rifles were stamped 30 WCF, then the newer rifles were stamped .30-30.

WCF is Winchester Center Fire, right?
Don't know when they discontinued marking them that way.
