I am plaining on buying my 1st AR-15 soon.  I was thinking of getting into reloading / loading my own ammo.  I have never loaded ammo before so I am clueless when it comes to this.  Does anyone have any good links or books that you would recommend to get me started out?  Plus, how much should I expect to pay initially to get set up to reload?  Any help would be appreciated.

Go to the General community where there is a reloading forum. Lots of links and start a thread there.

You might check just the last few days here... a couple people asked about it.

My $.02 on reloading .223, is that it's not really cost effective.  With all the time and work you put into it, you don't save much over buying it in bulk.

Now other calibers, like pistol and other rifle calibers, you can save quite a bit by reloading...

Each caliber will have it's cost/benefit ratio, you just have to look at it all, and decide if it's worth it to you to reload any given caliber.

I reload .45ACP .30-06 and .303, but won't reload .223 even tho I have the equipment for it.  Just not worth it when I can buy 1000 rounds for around $150
