I've got a select fire FNC that just loooves to chew up cheap Russian steel cased Barnaul and Wolf .223. Obviously, I need to get my ammo as absolutely cheaply as possible. No, really. No, really, I mean it. Im not interested in vague factors like "customer service" or "accuracy" or even "cleanliness". This is pure blasting ammo. All I expect is that this ammo goes bang 99% of the time I pull the trigger, will feed out of my mags resonably reliably, has no more chance that anverage to damaging my rifle and probably wont explode in my face. Other than that, Im talking ABSOLUTE dirt cheap. Im fully confident my FNC will eat damned near anything I throw at it...this isnt a picky eater like a Wilson AR-15. Cheapest .223 I can scare up is the purple boxed Russian 62 gr. stuff (repackaged Barnaul or Ulyanovsk I think) for ~$90/100 at sportsmans guide at the buyers club price. With coupon, I can essentially get free shipping. Surely, basic blasting .223 can be had cheaper. Ammunitionstore had tarnished IMI .223 for something like $80/1000, but thats all gone. I tried some of the yarnished surplus Guatemalan 5.56mm NATO, but most of it was too corroded to shoot. Century doesnt have .223 anything these days. Anyone got any leads on cheaper ammo? Please consider the cost of shipping when making recommendations, too. |
