I ordered my first 22lr upper from DPMS last week. They are on back order but have no clue when they will come in. Because I live in New York I had to get the bull Barrel version to meet State law requirements. Because the regular version has a Bayonet lug and a A2 flash hider they will not sell me one at my address in NY.
My grandson doesn't know yet but he will love this toy. Hope to put a red dot and a Nikon scope on it in the future. I here that the DPMS will have no problems with just about any ammo. Hope that's true. |

Have you looked at the Nordic 22 LR dedicated upper, it incorporates a float tube but has a threaded barrel. You might be able to have them sell you a compliant model for NY. The AR-15 market in 22 LR has been flat the last few years because of the price and lack of available of 22 LR ammo.
