I am sure this has been discussed before, I searched a little bit and didn't find the info I was looking for. Bear with me.
Is there a reasonably priced factory 22lr rifle made on a standard centerfire lower? I know I can buy a dedicated upper, but it would be nice if I could find a decent rifle that has the option of a quick upper swap. Was considering it as a gift for a younger shooter. They may want a CF rifle at some point but will be a starving college student in a few years and it would be nice if they could just plop a upper on it and be done. |

Like this? https://nordiccomp.com/categories/16-nc-22lr/ Why not buy or build any standard lower of your choosing and get a .22 dedicated upper? |

Quoted: These seem like they are what you are looking for.

| There are numerous threads on the Chiappa and ATI dedicated 22 rimfire uppers and rifles. These rimfire products are manufactured in Italy and they are cheap because the quality of materials and manufacture. One of the problems with the ATI/Chiappa is the sole source for replacement parts and warranty. At least with CMMG or TACCOM you have several sources for parts and barrels. I personally like the Atchisson pattern rimfire bolt used in many rimfire AR-15's but there are a few satisfied Chiappa customers. |
