Any chance anyone has been working on how to add LRBHO to an existing side charge upper?
Reason being I had bought my spartan side charge upper since my impatience is my ultimate downfall and from what I've seen all the hold open uses is a small piece of wire to engage the bolt. If anyone can post some shots of the upper to get a better look at what makes her go that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Edit to add I don't want to cheat NFA or anything I just wish they sold a kit to modify existing uppers. |

The LRBHO is entirely within the lower on all AR and AR-derived systems I've seen, so the upper shouldn't matter as long as the bolt has a ledge where the BHO piece can grab it. Is there something specific to your side charging upper that would prevent the normal BHO mechanism from working?
The actual mechanism depends on the magazines used. Colt system or modified Uzi uses a transfer mechanism in the magazine block, or a special 9mm BHO with a longer "finger" to reach to the back of the 9mm mag up in the middle of the magazine well. |

The NFA/PSA/joe bob's/runner runner Glock lowers all have LRBHO built into the upper. |
