| I've read several places that with 9mm bolts that are ramped for mil spec triggers often are not compatible with after market triggers like especially Geissele, well darn! That the bolt will not reset the hammer enough to catch. Anybody have luck with the CMC drop in triggers or any other decent trigger? |
| I can't say for sure, but doubtful. I run a Velocity trigger in my SBR, and as I started looking into a 9mm conversion I realized that Velocity specifically says NOT to use their triggers with a 9mm bcg. Looks like I'll have to invest in a modified stock trigger like from ALG to run on it instead. It's a shame, because that 4 lb Velocity trigger is awesome. |

I have an ALG ACT in my 9mm. My bolt is ramped. Prior to that a milspec AR15 trigger group worked with it before and after it was ramped. My upper is RRA with a Colt style bolt.
You can't use a trigger with a notch in it for 9mm. I don't know what specific guns came with those, but I assume they were ban era parts. Any hammer with a round profile where it slides on the bolt should work. |

Notched HAMMERS are a problem with most 9mm (and probably ALL .22) bolts. There have been discussions here about which aftermarket hammers work with ramped 9mm bolts, but since there is some variation between the profiles of different 9mm bolts, there is some potential for a "range of parts" that work with some bolts but not others.
IN GENERAL, if the hammer of your FCG is pretty close to the profile and height of a MIL-SPEC hammer, it should work with any 9mm bolt. Troubles crop up when the hammer is either shorter or has a more notched profile (or both) than the standard rounded AR hammer. |
